i have been longing to revisit the whole bangers and mash dinner that was made the first week we were here. satisfying it was not.
although the cumberland sausages were just as delish as remembered, the sainsbury's mashed potatoes and gravy left alot to be desired in the way of taste. actually, both were interestingly lacking in any and all taste.
an afternoon grocery store run is on my docket today as i want to make my own mashed taters and try a different gravy. full success with the cumberland sausages, so those will stay in the equation.
lucky for us, bonnie needs to do some shopping too! and she's going to be escorting us home as dignan is looking a tad tired but he still has generously offered to help "carry" some of miss bonnie's grocery bags anyways. my little gentlemen.
bonnie's visit extends into the evening and now the boys are home. since bonnie also bought cumberland sausages, i suggest pooling all the sausages together so we can have one giant bangers and mash fest.
it turns out to be an awesome idea. everyone full up on sausage, mashed tater, chimichurri & bread goodness, the night comes to an end as the boys have work tomorrow and i have another day full of peanuts, as in gemma and diggy.
and we have officially hosted our first dinner party at the new flat!
